VIDEO ISSUES:
1. I get an error
message in Windows Media Player whenever I try to play the videos.
Using Windows
Vista, Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11?
I have some bad news for you, my friend. Currently, Microsoft has issued
a notice
that many users with this configuration may not be able to view all
streaming media. They are working to resolve this issue and once they
come up with a resolution, I'm sure they'll issue an update. However,
you can get instructions for rolling back to version 10 by clicking
here.
Most likely, problems with viewing videos is
caused by not having the codecs needed to play the videos. I suggest
you try the following steps, trying to view the videos after each one:
2.
I can't download the videos!
I offer videos in 2 formats for your convenience: Windows Streaming
and Quicktime for download. If you like to save your videos and watch
them later, I suggest you download the zipped Quicktime videos. These
are of higher quality and seem to be more universally playable.
3.I
have a Mac and can't stream the Windows Media videos
Good news! I offer my videos in downloadable Quicktime
videos. This makes it possible for practically EVERYBODY to be able
to view the videos. Just click on "QUICKTIME DOWNLOAD" on
the page of the scene you'd like to see. Save the video to your desktop,
unzip, and enjoy!
More Information
on Video playback
Videos are available in 2 formats. You must have the player for the
format you are trying to watch installed on your computer--They're both
FREE:
Download
Windows Media Player
Download
QUICKTIME Player
Once the software is downloaded to your hard drive, you may still need
to install it. Simply locate the downloaded file, double-click it and
follow the on-screen instructions. When the installation is complete,
launch your Web browser and come back to DirtyTony.com to view all of
the latest videos!
Do you currently support Mac computers?
Good News! As of February 2, 2007 videos are now viewable by Mac users
with the latest version of Quicktime. I
do not recommend trying to use Windows Media if you are using a Mac or
Windows Vista Machine.
I'm using Firefox browser and I keep getting an error message when
I try to view the videos.
Firefox does not automatically know to play Windows Media playlists
(which is what we use to tell your browser how to find the videos on
our server). You can tell it to open these files in Windows Media Player.
First, make sure you have the latest
version of Firefox:
Now, go to Tools -> Options ->
Content -> File Types, and click on Manage. Now find the lines that
say file type: ASX. Click on "change action", and then check
the radio button that says "open them with the default application",
and make sure it says Windows Media Player in the box. Click OK and
close the popup windows and you should be good to go!
Photos
- When I click
on a picture, I get a white square with a red "X" in it,
where are the pictures?
If you are using a Mac, just above the gallery of thumbnails is a
link to download the images. I suggest you do this instead of trying
to view the images online. Unfortunately, the gallery generator isn't
compatible with Macs at this time. I'm working on a better solution.
But for now, at least you can see what you might otherwise miss.
